William Quaintance left Rappahannock County, Virginia to establish the Kentucky branch of the Quaintance family. It was a detailed genealogy of the Quaintance family, done in the 1960s, that sparked my interest in doing my own research. The Quaintance family comprised most of the early entries in the Family Tree Maker V1.0 software that ran under DOS on my first PC. Most of that information has been carried right through to my latest database (and these pages).
