They had a journey of possibly several months from Maryland to Kentucky, part of it on a flatboat down the Ohio River. They brought their family, many household goods, and several slaves.3,1 Charles Darnall died on 24 September 1833 in Fleming County at age 65.1,2 He was buried in the Darnall family cemetery, Fleming County, Kentucky.4,2

     Thomas Darnall was born on 24 May 1799 in Washington County, Maryland.1 He was a businessman.1 He was the son of Charles Darnall and Martha Cunningham.2,1 Thomas Darnall married Lucinda Jane Armstrong, daughter of William Armstrong and Justena LeForgee, on 19 January 1826.1 Thomas Darnall died on 12 July 1881 in Elizaville, Fleming County, Kentucky, at age 82.1 He was buried in Flemingsburg Cemetery, Fleming County, Kentucky.1,3 He was a prominent businessman in the Fleming Co. area. He was the former owner and possible builder of the house near Flemingsburg. He has a large monument in the Flemingsburg Cemetery surrounded by many of his children and grandchildren.1
