Susannah Downing married an unknown person on 18 August 1794 in Mason County, Kentucky. George Edwards was born 3 January 1772 in Fairfax, VA and died 28 October 1870 in Brown Co.Ohio George & Susannah had 14 children. Additional information is available. She died on 6 August 1853 in Byrd Twp, Brown County, Ohio, at age 77. She is buried in the West-Evans Cemetary, Bryd Township, Ohio. The 1850 census, Brown County, Byrd Twp p62 shows George and Susannah. In 1860 George is in the household of David Thorp, Brown Co Jackson Twp p108.

     Nancy Ellis was born in 1763 in Maryland. She married Timothy Downing, son of James Downing and Susannah (?), in 1782 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. Her married name was Downing. Nancy Ellis left a will in 1832 in Mason County, Kentucky. She died in 1832 in Mason County.

     Charles Downing was born on 11 July 1802. He was the son of Timothy Downing and Nancy Ellis. Charles Downing married an unknown person on 11 September 1827. He married an unknown person on 15 February 1855. He married an unknown person . He died on 1 August 1891 at age 89.

     Isaac Downing was born in 1787. He was the son of Timothy Downing and Nancy Ellis. Isaac Downing died on 6 January 1853.

     Susanna Downing was born on 17 June 1783 in Redstone Old Fort, Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Timothy Downing and Nancy Ellis. Susanna Downing married an unknown person in May 1805 in Mason County, Kentucky. She died on 1 February 1873 in Lebanon, Warren County, Ohio, at age 89.

     Elizabeth Downing was born on 30 May 1806 in Mason County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of James Downing and Lucretia Tucker. Elizabeth Downing married an unknown person on 3 January 1828 in Brown County, Ohio. She died on 11 August 1894 at age 88.

     James Downing was born on 3 March 1821 in Mason County, Kentucky. He was the son of James Downing and Lucretia Tucker.

     John Downing was born on 10 May 1749 in Frederick County, Maryland; Unknown GEDCOM info. He was the son of James Downing and Susannah (?) John Downing married Susannah Ann Ellis on 19 February 1770 in Cumberland County, Ohio. John Downing left a will in 1823 in Mason County, Kentucky. He was buried in January 1826 in the Downing farm, Mason County, Kentucky. He died on 17 January 1826 in Mason County at age 76. The following is from Joe Downing ( long time Downing researcher ) We have more definite dates on John Downing and his family because his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Ellis Downing ( wife of son Reason ) had a family Bible completed in the mid 1800's. John married Susannah Ellis 19 February 1770, probably in cumberland Co PA. She was born 8 September 1750 and the Bible shows her as the daughter of Ellis Ellis and his wife Nancy. If so, she would have been the sister of Nancy Ellis who married brother Timothy Downing and brother of Isaac Ellis who married Nancy Ann Downing. The Downing family was in Western Pennsylvania near Redstone Old Fort, Brownsville, PA in the early 1770s. John appears in the Ohio County Virginia Court Records for that area on 7 September 1778, he and Isaac Ellis being examined and found not guilty of murder. This was in an area claimed by both Virginia and Pennsylvania. John appears on the Washington County PA tax lists starting in 1781. (PA Archives, Series 3, Vol 22, p741 ). His brother's James and Timothy are on the same lists. He appears on subsequent tax lists until he leaves PA in 1789. He served in the REV War in the Washington Co Militia. On 2 February 1787 a warrant for 400 acres was granted John Downing at Philadelphia. In 1788 he was appointed a supervisor of roads in Hopewell Twp a task he would also perform somewhat later in Mason County Kentucky. The first land transaction recorded in Mason County is a purchase of 370 acres from William Wood on Lawrence Creek. A later purchase was made of 78 acres on the Ohio River from Abraham Bowman. John Downing died 17 January 1826 and his will, written 28 October 1819, was probated in February Court 1826. Susannah Ellis Downing died 6 April 1815. It is believed that both are buried in un-marked graves in the family cemetery on Slack Pike.

     Mary ( Polly ) Downing was born on 7 October 1779 in Westmoreland, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John Downing and Susannah Ann Ellis. Mary ( Polly ) Downing married an unknown person on 28 March 1796 in Brown County, Ohio. They had 12 children. After Mary died, Thomas married her sister Elizabeth. She died on 5 November 1832 in Brown County, Ohio, at age 53. She was buried in Old Red Oak Cemetery, Brown County, Ohio.

     Matilda Downing was born on 23 March 1804 in Mason County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of James Downing and Lucretia Tucker.

     Robert Downing was born on 30 October 1813 in Mason County, Kentucky. He was the son of James Downing and Lucretia Tucker.

     Thomas Downing was born on 12 March 1816 in Mason County, Kentucky. He was the son of James Downing and Lucretia Tucker.

     Sarah Downing was born on 10 April 1781 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John Downing and Susannah Ann Ellis. Sarah Downing married an unknown person on 8 July 1798 in Mason County, Kentucky. They had eight children. All born in Clinton Co. Ohio. More info available. She died in April 1827 in Clinton County, Ohio.

     Delilah Downing was born on 5 February 1783 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John Downing and Susannah Ann Ellis. Delilah Downing married an unknown person on 9 October 1800 in Mason County, Kentucky. Jacob was born 24 March 1778 at Burns Co., PA Delilah was a twin to Dorcas. They were in Brown Co Ohio in the 1830's. After Jacob died Delilah moved with most of her 14 children to Indiana. She died on 1 November 1852 in Hensley Twp, Johnson County, Indiana, at age 69.

     Dorcas Downing was born on 5 February 1783 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John Downing and Susannah Ann Ellis. Dorcas Downing married an unknown person on 8 May 1804 in Mason County, Kentucky. He had 4 children by a previous marriage to Martha Kirkpatrick. William and Dorcas had 10 of their own. She died on 31 January 1849 in Washington, Mason County, Kentucky, at age 65.

     Catherine Downing was born on 29 January 1785 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John Downing and Susannah Ann Ellis. Catherine Downing married an unknown person on 8 November 1804 in Mason County, Kentucky. He was born 25 august 1775 and died 6 July 1870. They are both buried in the Sabina Cemetary, Richland township, Ohio. She died on 19 October 1872 in Richland Twp, Clinton County, Ohio, at age 87. She was buried in Sabina Cemetery, Richland Twp., Clinton County, Ohio. They had 13 children.

     Susannah Ann Ellis was born on 3 September 1750 in Frederick County, Maryland. She married John Downing, son of James Downing and Susannah (?), on 19 February 1770 in Cumberland County, Ohio. Her married name was Downing. Susannah Ann Ellis died on 6 April 1815 in Washington, Mason County, Kentucky, at age 64. She was buried in the Downing farm, Mason County, Kentucky.

     Lydia Downing was born on 19 April 1787 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John Downing and Susannah Ann Ellis. Lydia Downing married an unknown person on 1 September 1808 in Mason County, Kentucky. They had 5 children. After George died she married Michael McMahan on 8 February 1921 at Harrison, IN. they had 1 child. She married a 3rd time to Michael ryan and he died 27 July 1880 at Danville, IL. She married an unknown person on 8 February 1821 in Harrison County, Indiana. She died on 20 August 1852 in Danville, Vermillion County, Illinois, at age 65.
