     William Penn Pigman was born on 13 April 1822 in Wheeling, West Virginia.1 He was the son of Joshua Ridgely Pigman and Nackey Penn.1 William Penn Pigman married Mary Keziah Jenkins, daughter of Ralph Newton Jenkins and Susan Gordon, on 4 November 1845.1 William Penn Pigman married Mary Theresa Sprigman on 5 January 1854.1 William Penn Pigman was a postmaster in 1860 in Levy County, Florida.2 He and Mary Theresa Sprigman lived in 1860 in Levy County, Florida.2 William Penn Pigman was in military service in the Civil War between 1861 and 1865. He served in the 8th Florida Confederate Infantry, Company H. The company's drummer boy was his son, Charles Pigman.1 He died on 4 May 1877 in Macon, Georgia, at age 55.1
